One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme, Chennai

We are happy to announce that a “One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme” is being organised by MOHAN Foundation from 20th to 24th January 2020 at MOHAN Foundation, Chennai.

The success of organ donation and transplantation depends upon good counselling and coordination by transplant coordinators. The Transplantation of Human Organs (Amendment) Act, 2011, has made Transplant Coordinator nomination mandatory before a hospital is registered as a Transplant Centre. This means there is a huge requirement of Transplant Coordinators in close to 400 Transplant centres in the country.

In order to meet the growing demand for Transplant Coordinators, MOHAN Foundation has embarked upon training programmes to suit the needs of these health care professionals. We have conducted 66 training programmes in the country and trained 2399 transplant coordinators over the past ten years (December 2009 – December 2019).
