MOHAN Foundation conducts Masterclass in Soft Skills and Communication for Transplant Coordinators at Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune

On Sunday, 25th August 2019, MOHAN Foundation organised a one-day Masterclass in Soft Skills and Communication for Transplant coordinators working in the field of organ donation and transplantation at Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune in collaboration with ZTCC Pune & supported by SBI Foundation, SBI DFHI Limited and INTAS.   

 

This Masterclass was aimed at improving practical skills such as soft skills and communication, self-expectations, communication guidelines, presentation pointers, body language, team building, conflict resolving, accountability, and stress management. Each topic was addressed as a presentation, team building activity, interactive session or video. The Masterclass was held by Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram (Country Director, MOHAN Foundation), Mrs. Jaya Jairam (Project Manager), Dr. Jimmy and trainer Mrs. Devika Gill which was insightful, well organized, and highly informative.

 

Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram started with the presentation & activities to improve Self-management skills as mentioned below:

  • Communication skills – Speaking and writing skills, effective presentations
  • Body language, dress etiquette, workplace etiquette
  • Motivation & Stress management

 

Then we moved to presentation skills. As part of a non-governmental organisation being able to speak among crowds and raise awareness for the organisation is key.

 

The Masterclass was inaugurated by Lamp Lighting held by ZTCC Pune Central Coordinator Mrs. Aarti Gokhale, Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram (Country Director, MOHAN Foundation), Mrs. Jaya Jairam (Project Manager), Mrs. Komal Pawar (Double Lung and Heart Transplant Recipient), Ms. Shreya Siddhanagowder (double hand transplant recipient), Mr. Amit Tripathi (Regional Business Manager INTAS) and trainer Mrs. Devika Gill.

 

Next Mrs Lalitha Raghuram explained about the People skills through Presentation & Group Activity as mentioned below:

  • Building leadership skills
  • Developing networking skills
  • Team building
  • Negotiation and conflict management

 

After a wonderful and social lunch Mrs. Komal Pawar (Double Lung and Heart Transplant Recipient), Ms. Shreya Siddhanagowder (double hand transplant recipient) shared their life stories inspiring and motivating participants to continue & improve the work in the field of organ donation and transplantation.

 

Lastly Mrs. Devika Gill took over the session by sharing a Life Story. She taught the participants personal ways of de-stressing and explained that mental strength plays a strong role in this. She elaborated that stress management is an important factor in not only work, career wise but in life also. She then involved participants in group activity of painting on a small piece of paper which was collaged later into becoming a masterpiece.

 

In conclusion this masterclass was a huge success and the participants took home new knowledge with them. We enhanced our practical skills to manage and engage more effectively in our organisation and places of work. About 25 participants left with a certificate of completion and achievement along with a sense of new ideas and how to achieve them.
