Geodis India Private Limited, a freight forwarding company, invited MOHAN Foundation for an awareness program on Organ Donation on 14^th August 2019. Mr. Siva Shankar, Marketing Coordinator and Helpline Executive from the Foundation conducted the session.

Following the distribution of information brochures on organ donation, Mr. Siva Shankar briefly spoke about MOHAN Foundation and its activities, before delivering a lecture covering the following topics:

• Organ donation and its need
• Organs that can be donated while living and after the demise of a person
• Organ and tissue donation after brain death and circulatory death
• Brain death
• TRANSTAN and organ allocation in Tamil Nadu
• Donor card and the organ donation helpline

At the end of the one hour session, the participants had a few questions, one of which included the possibility of donation by an individual who does not hold an organ donor card.

The staff who attended the session was really happy to have gained a lot of knowledge about organ donation. The session was attended by around 50 members and 25 registered themselves as organ donors.
