Organ Donation Awareness Programme at Vidyakirana College of Nursing, Bangalore

The successful implementation of the organ donation programme hinges on the education of the masses. What is needed is a proactive attitude towards cadaveric organ donation (deceased organ donation) among the public. A country with a population of over 1 billion, India still lags behind in the implementation of this programme.

In an effort to promote deceased organ donation in India, MOHAN Foundation is conducting countrywide public awareness programmes and workshops on this very important subject. As a part of this, MOHAN Foundation, Bangalore had organized a talk on Deceased Organ Donation at Vidyakirana College of Nursing on 20th July 2012. Mr. Bino James, Project Manager - MOHAN Foundation, Bangalore, addressed the students and explained the various concepts related to deceased organ donation. The interactive session helped the budding nursing professionals understand a great deal about the concepts related to deceased organ donation and the vital role that they play as medical professionals in promoting this noble cause.
