MOHAN Foundation invited to launch of ''Nevadan'' - Awareness on Cadaver Organ Donation Programme at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, Delhi

On December 12, 2018, MOHAN Foundation was invited to the launch of ‘Nevadan’- Awareness on Cadaver Organ Donation, an initiative of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, to promote the deceased organ donation programme. The aim of the programme was to bring awareness among the hospital colleagues and strategy to improve organ donation statistics in Apollo Hospital.

 

The programme was graced by the presence of neuro surgeons, neurophysicians, orthopedicians, nephrologists, kidney transplant surgeons, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, liver transplant surgeons, ICU staff nurses, anesthetists, manager ICU, emergency department, CTVS surgeons and cardiologists.

 

Mrs. Pallavi Kumar gave a presentation on ‘’breaking barriers in cadaver organ donation’’

 

There was a panel discussion on the topic- How to improve organ donation at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital which was moderated by Dr. P N Ranjen (Neuro Physician). Panelists included Dr. Priyadarshini (Head, Emergency), Dr. Jagtar Singh (DMS), Dr. S Jasuja (Nephrologist) and Dr. Mukesh Goyal (Heart Transplant Surgeon).

 

The second panel discussion was on the topic- How to develop  systems to improve organ donation at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital for which the moderator was Dr. Jagtar Singh. Panelists for the same were Dr. Vikas Sangwan (Manager DMS office), Dr. Mukesh Goyal, Dr. Shishir Pareek (Senior Consultant, liver) and Dr. Neerav Goyal (Head- Liver Transplant Department)

 

This was followed by a short lecture by Dr. Vikas Sangwan on the topic Handling Medico- Legal aspects of organ donation.

 

The programme concluded with a signature campaign.
