Mrs. Jigisha Yadavhas introduced about MOHAN Foundation and its missions and objectives. Mrs. Jigisha Yadav asked all the police officials present at the session, what comes to their mind when you hear the word organ donation? The responses were mixed positive as well as negative.

Then she explained the concept of organ donation in-depth. She also discussed the types of death viz. Brain Death & Cardiac Death, the types of organs and tissues that can be donated after cardiac death as well as after brain death, the concept of brain death. She also explained the difference between Brain Death and Coma. Various myths and facts about organ donation were discussed. Also information about organ allocation, and distribution were also shared. Toll Free No of MOHAN Foundation was introduced.

Mrs. Jigisha Yadav also elaborated the legal aspects, the actual role of police when MLC Brain death case comes. We ask them to understand and check Form 8 and Form 10 when hospital request letter comes. We also told them as those organs have less time so approval should be made as early as they can and Donor Family should not wait for the NOC from other police station.

Around 30 people attended the Awareness session. Some queries were asked & Mrs. Jigisha Yadav solved their queries.

We thank Mr. Devidas Sonawne (senior inspector) for inviting us and giving us an opportunity and for supporting the cause of Organ Donation, and also Mr. Subhash (Police Naik – PN post) for co-ordinating among the staff.
