One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme, Coimbatore

We are happy to announce the “One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme” under the aegis of National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu (TRANSTAN).  This programme is being organised by MOHAN Foundation from 7th to 11th January 2019 at Coimbatore.

The success of organ donation and transplantation depends upon good counseling and coordination by transplant coordinators. The Transplantation of Human Organs (Amendment) Act, 2011, has made Transplant Coordinator nomination mandatory before a hospital is registered as a Transplant Centre. This means there is a huge requirement of Transplant Coordinators in close to 400 Transplant centres in the country.

In order to meet the growing demand for Transplant Coordinators, MOHAN Foundation has embarked upon training programmes to suit the needs of these health care professionals. We have conducted 58 training programmes in the country and trained 2060 transplant coordinators over the past eight years (December 2009 – November 2018).
