On 21^st Sep 2017 the principal of Maharshi Dayanand College (MD College, Parel), Mrs.Ghule and its NSS teachers invited Mrs.Jaya Jairam to preside over the awareness session to be conducted by the volunteering Angels of Change (trained by us in March 2017) for the college’s newcomers studying in First year.

 

The NSS Coordinator extended a warm welcome to Mrs.Jaya Jairam by presenting her with a Tulsi Sapling. Subsequently, the Angels took turns presenting all about Organ donation in Marathi language. They explained in detail as to what organ donation was, types of donors, what is brain death and how different it is from cardiac death, why is organ donation the need of hour, types of organs and tissues that can be donated.

 

They went on the explain to the newcomers as to how they were volunteering for the cause of organ donation by way of awareness sessions, manning stalls, participating in walkathons and human chains, etc.

 

Finally, they had a pleasant surprise in store for Mrs.Jaya Jairam. They presented a street play entirely conceptualised and scripted by the Angels of Change and performed by the newcomers. The students performed very well, in Marathi language and the play was scripted very well.

 

Mrs.Jaya Jairam expressed her immense happiness and sincere thanks to the wonderful Angels, the first year students, the NSS teachers – Mr.Nikam, Mrs. Asha Kumbhar and the principal of M D College, Mrs. T P Ghule, for their constant and enthusiastic support to MOHAN Foundation Mumbai and for the cause of organ donation.
