MOHAN Foundation was invited by the President of All India Senior Citizen’s Confederation, Nerul, Navi Mumbai on 12^th September 2017 to conduct awareness for its members during their monthly meet.

 

Mrs.Jaya Jairam conducted the awareness session for all the Senior Citizens who attended. She explained how Organ Donation is a noble deed that can save many lives. She spoke about what is Organ Donation, why is it needed, who can be donors and the process of how organ donation and transplantation is done.

 

She touched upon the religious beliefs and how that is one of the major barriers to organ donation. Many Senior citizens were appreciative when they heard her own story of how she faced kidney failure and could come out of it thanks to the timely act of kidney donation by her mother.

 

Many took the pledge to donate their organs and also vowed to do advocacy in their own circles.
