On August 18, 2017, MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct an awareness session on organ donation at the corporate office of Dalmia Cement Bharat Limited (DCBL) at Scindia House, New Delhi. This was the second session that was being organised at this company, the earlier one was conducted at DCBL's Noida office on June 8, 2017. Both the sessions were organised and coordinated by the combined efforts of Ms. Madhuri Mehta (Deputy Executive Director, HR, DCBL) & Ms. Bharti Menghani (Executive Secretary, DCBL) though the proposal for the same was mooted by Mr. Sundeep Kumar (Executive Director - Corporate Affairs & Communication, DCBL).

 

Ms. Pallavi Kumar was the resource person and she was accompanied by Dr. Muneet Kaur Sahi.

 

The session covered key issues like need for organ donation, current statistics on end stage organ failure, organ donation rate, brain death & legal aspects of organ donation and myths around organ donation. One of the participants wanted to know more about the modalities of going through the process of pledging one's organs and the consequences thereafter.

 

In the end, Mr. Sundeep Kumar felicitated Ms. Pallavi Kumar & Dr Muneet Kaur Sahi with mementos.

 

Close to 30 people attended the talk and 10 donor cards were picked up.
