MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur   to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license on 1st April 2016.

Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points:-

• What is organ donation & it is legal?
• Which hospital is doing kidney transplant in Nagpur?

• Importance and need of Organ donation.
• Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
• Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death.
• THO Act and myths related to Organ donation.
• Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

It was a very interactive session. Approximately 30 drivers were presented during the talk. 10 drivers took the consent form .They want to sign consent form after discussing with their family.

 The Participants asked the following questions:-

Why are private hospital not declaring brain death?

Is there any provision for organ donor family?

Whom should we contact for Eye donation?
