The 50 km distance between Ramanagara and Bengaluru was a non issue for those who believe in the cause. The 3rd edition of Ramanagara Marathon 2016 had-more than 1500 runners participating in 7k, 11K, and 21K Run consisting of corporate employees, school children, celebrities, senior citizens and general public. The event was focused on creating awareness on Organ Donation. The Yellow and Red Foundations (YARF) conducts this annual event with MOHAN Foundation as a supporting partner. They also raise Funds for Old Age Homes for underprivileged.
The Marathon was held on 28th February 2016 at Ramanagara, Karnataka. Mr.Prakash K Transplant Coordinator Chennai was invited for the event and an information stall was set at the starting point of marathon. The Kannada film actors like Dhananjaya and Vinayak Joshi supported the cause. All participants received an information brochure on organ donation. More than 500 athletes visited the stall and 150 have pledged their organs and picked donor cards.
