Chartered Accountant Day celebrated with a noble thought in Nagpur

CA. Kirti Agrawal, Chairperson of the Nagpur branch of Western India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, invited Dr. Ravi Wankhede Centre head of MOHAN Foundation to deliver a talk on Organ donation. The talk was held on the auspicious occasion of the Chartered Accountant day on 1st July 2015 in their office at Dhantoli, Nagpur.

 

Dr. Wankhede through a PPP gave an elaborate talk explaining the serious need of life saving organs and the potential to harvest several organs from a person declared ‘brain death’. He said that Indians are wary of such an act, due to unawareness, religious misunderstanding and superstitions, etc. He told that this is a routine in developed countries. But in India we are far below when it comes to donate organs from brain dead persons.

 

He gave the example of Tamil Nadu, which has made tremendous progress due to increased mass awareness amongst the general public. This example has to be followed by Maharashtra and others States in the country.

 

CA Kirti Agrawal was the first to sign the pledge for followed by 32 people, mostly young graduates pledged to donate organs. CA Kirti Agrawal assured to take the movement ahead through her contacts and associations. Earlier she introduced Dr. Ravi Wankhede to the gathering.
