Young man saves lives after his death

Mr. Ravi Kumar (31 years) – a tea master from Chennai (Thirisulam) gave rebirth to six people by donating his organs on 4th July, 2010. Mr. Ravikumar met with an accident while crossing the road on 1st July and was rushed to the local hospital. Later he was shifted to Govt. General Hospital, Chennai where he was declared as brain dead by the team of doctors. His wife Mrs. Achhaponnu and two school going girl children were completely heartbroken when they heard the news. The whole family was distressed due to the loss of their loved one.

 

The transplant coordinators form MOHAN Foundation consoled the family. They also put forward the option of donating Mr. Ravikumar’s organs to the family so that he could gift life to five people at least. Even though they were in grief his wife and mother, cared enough to save others. They discussed with other relatives and came forward for the noble cause by saying “YES” for organ donation. They saved around six people who were enduring endless days of pain due to their organ failures. Mr. Ravikumar’s eyes, kidneys and heart valves were retrieved on 4th July and given to the poor needy people.

 

“Mr. RaviKumar was a person full of helping tendency and he proved his nature even after his death”  said Mr. Ganesan, local leader.
