SGRH Faculty Lecture in association with MOHAN Foundation

MOHAN Foundation in association with The Ganga Ram Institute for Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (GRIPMER) organized a faculty lecture on December 5, 2014, in the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital's auditorium, New Delhi. Dr. Namish N. Mehta (Associate Professor & Senior G.I: HPB & liver Transplant Surgeon) took the initiative to have this lecture from the hospital's side.

 

GRIPMER was launched by SGRH in the year 2012 to boost research and post-graduate education. The lecture on,"long-term outcomes following Paediatric liver transplantation," by Prof. Deirdre Kelly was organised as part of this initiative.

 

Prof. Deirdre Kelly is professor of Paediatric Hepatology at Birmingham's Children Hospital, Birmingham, UK. She set up the hospital's liver unit in 1989 and has developed the facility into leading paediatric liver unit in the world. In her presentation she shared her experience as a Paediatric Hepatologist and how she has achieved the survival rate for children undergoing liver transplants by almost 50 percent. She also spoke about small bowel transplant since Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is very keen to start this facility.

 

Participants included liver transplant surgeons, Paediatric Hepatologist from different hospitals of Delhi-NCR and DNB students of SGRH. A total of 100 participants attended the session.
