MOHAN Foundation Joins Hands with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu to Spread Awareness on Organ Donation, Contd…

On 28th November 2014 Deloitte celebrated “Impact Day”. As a part of their celebration Deloitte organized Organ Donation Awareness programme at two different places.

 

The sessions were organized at Madras School of Social Work, Chennai. The seminar hall was filled with young psychologists sitting enthusiastically to listen the session.

 

Session at Madras School of Social Work

Ms. Kavitha. S, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation addressed the gathering. The session started with a recipient talk to make them understand “Why Organ Donation” following that she spoke on the following topics:

 

  • Healthy and safe lifestyle
  • Importance and need of organ donation
  • Transplant Coordinator Training Programme
  • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Organs and tissues  that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
  • Importance of Donor card, helpline number and website

 

Nearly 80 students attended the session and all promised to support the Organ Donation  and take it for to their family and friends.

 

Session at Ethiraj College for Women

Another session was organized at Ethiraj College for Women on the same day. The seminar hall was filled with students of Commerce and Maths department.  

 

Ms. Kavitha. S, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation addressed the gathering. Her talk concentrated on following topics:

 

  • Healthy and safe lifestyle
  • Importance and need of organ donation
  • Types of donations – live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural Death, Coma and Brain Death
  • Organs and tissues  that can be donated in cardiac death and brain death
  • Importance of Donor card, helpline number and website

 

At end a volunteer of Deloitte gave vote of thanks and also mentioned that “It’s our responsibility to make sure that our individual wish is been fulfilled”.  Nearly 200 students attended the session and all promised to support the Organ Donation.
