On October 18^th, 2014, Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Dr. Sridhar Nagaiyan and Dr. Christopher Barry, all representing the MOHAN Foundation, presented speeches at the “National Round Table on Deceased Donor Transplantation in India: Converting Challenges into Opportunities” at King George Medical University, Lucknow.  Many prominent stakeholders were present, including Dr. O.P. Kalra, Dr. Vivekanand Jah, Dr. Harsh Jauhari, Dr. Anil Kumar, Dr. AG Gokhale, Mr. Nandimath from National Law School, Bengaluru, Dr. Sanjay Sharma. Dr. Sonal Asthana, Liver Transplant Surgeon at BGS Global Hospital, Bengaluru, was the chief organiser.  

The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) was represented by Drs. Anil Kumar and Harsh Jauhari and much time was discussed on how to move forward with implementing a national deceased donor transplant program in India. All delegates were determined to increase the amount of deceased donor transplants performed throughout the country.

In addition to the 20 delegates, Dr. VM Katoch, Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research, Dr. Sagar Galwankar, Scientific Chairman of INDUSEM 2014 and Faculty of Emergency Medicine, University of Florida USA, and Professor Dr. Ravi Kant, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, The King George Medical University, Lucknow, and an additional 20 audience members were present. MOHAN Foundation’s accomplishment of training virtually every Transplant Coordinator in India was celebrated by the attendees.
