On June 11, 2026, on the occasion of World Eye Donation Day, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur commemorated the day at the Ophthalmology Department of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Nagpur. The program aimed to recognize the invaluable contributions of ophthalmic dept. and to promote awareness about eye donation.

On behalf of MOHAN Foundation, Ms. Veena Wathore, Ms. Neha Sailwar, and Mr. Dhiraj Kurve & Mr. Ramesh Bhisikar, MF Ambassador facilitated the program in collaboration with the Ophthalmology Department. The event was organized to acknowledge the dedicated efforts of medical professionals involved in cornea donation and to strengthen awareness about eye donation among healthcare providers.

During the program, Ms. Veena Wathore shared insights into the work and mission of MOHAN Foundation and highlighted the current scenario and significance of eye donation. She emphasized the life-changing impact of cornea donation in restoring sight and stressed the need to encourage more individuals to support this noble cause. She also appreciated the commitment and continuous efforts of the Ophthalmology team in facilitating eye donation activities.

As part of the celebration, 30 doctors and technicians were felicitated with certificates in recognition of their dedicated service and valuable contributions toward promoting and supporting eye donation.

The event served as a meaningful platform to honour healthcare professionals and to reinforce the message that eye donation has the power to transform lives through the gift of sight.
