On June 27, 2026, MOHAN Foundation collaborated with the Candles a local NGO to conduct an Eye Donation Awareness Programme at Padur Village, Kanchipuram. The programme was attended by around 50 community members.

The event was organized by Ms. Angeline from the Candles Community, with support from the MOHAN Foundation team comprising Ms. Arshiya, Ms. Kavitha, Mr. Ganesh, and Ms. Kanishka.

The programme was conducted in the Yesuthuva Pandigai Community. As part of the event, children from the community enthusiastically mobilized the villagers through a parai procession, inviting them to participate in the awareness programme. Ms. Angeline and her team had trained community volunteers to present villu pattu, drama, dance, and speeches focusing on the importance of cornea donation.

The children participated with great enthusiasm and confidence, effectively sharing key messages about eye donation and encouraging the public to pledge their eyes after death. Their active involvement made the awareness programme engaging and meaningful for the audience.

The programme had a positive impact on the community, with 5 individuals coming forward to pledge their corneas. Parents expressed immense pride and happiness in seeing their children participate in a meaningful social cause and contribute to spreading awareness about eye donation.

The MOHAN Foundation team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Angeline and the Candles Community team for their valuable cooperation and for providing the opportunity to conduct this meaningful awareness programme in Padur Village.
