Awareness session on eye donation Conducted at Shingarpada, Jawhar, Palghar

On June 25, 2026, Karina Kadu, representing MOHAN Foundation, delivered an Eye Donation Awareness Session at Shingarpada as part of an Eye Check-up Camp coordinated by VisionSpring. The session aimed to educate participants on the significance of eye donation, the donation process, and its impact on restoring vision for individuals with corneal blindness. Attendees were briefed on the criteria for eye donation, the optimal post-mortem timeframe for donation, and the importance of contributing corneas to help those in need regain their eyesight. Furthermore, prevalent myths and misunderstandings regarding eye donation were clarified to facilitate informed decision-making.

A total of 78 participants actively engaged in the awareness program, demonstrating a strong interest in understanding eye donation. They posed relevant questions and were encouraged to initiate conversations with their families about their willingness to donate their eyes. The session concluded successfully, with enthusiastic involvement from the community.
