An Eye Donation Awareness Session was held on June 22, 2026 at Subdistrict Hospital, Mokhada, led by Miss Karina Kadu, Program Executive from MOHAN Foundation. The session aimed to educate patients, and the public on the significance of eye donation in restoring vision for individuals with corneal blindness. A total of 52 participants attended. Key topics covered included the importance of eye donation, the donation process, donor eligibility criteria, and the time sensitivity of donating eyes within six hours of death. Emphasis was placed on how a single cornea donation can help restore vision for two individuals with corneal blindness. The session also debunked common myths surrounding eye donation and stressed the importance of discussing donation wishes with family members, as their consent is crucial during the donation process. Participants were reminded that eye donation is a simple yet impactful act that can profoundly change lives by providing the gift of sight to those in need. An engaging question-and-answer segment allowed participants to seek clarifications and actively engage in the discussion. Attendees expressed appreciation for the information shared and demonstrated a heightened understanding of the importance of eye donation. The session concluded with a vote of gratitude extended to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and support.
