Awareness session on eye donation Conducted at Jawhar, Vikramgad, and Mokhada

On June 10, 2026, in observance of World Eye Donation Day, Karina Kadu of the MOHAN Foundation visited Rural Hospitals in Jawhar, Vikramgad, and Mokhada to conduct eye donation awareness initiatives. The visit involved engaging in discussions with hospital staff and members of the public to raise awareness about the significance of eye donation, the donation process, and its crucial role in providing vision to individuals afflicted by corneal blindness. Participants were urged to grasp the importance of eye donation and to disseminate knowledge within their communities.

A total of 40 individuals participated in the awareness programs held across the three rural hospitals. Furthermore, banners commemorating World Eye Donation Day were prominently displayed on the hospital premises to increase public awareness and promote eye donation. These banners effectively educated visitors and reinforced the message of eye donation throughout the day. The primary objective of the activity was to foster a deeper understanding of eye donation, debunk common misconceptions, and inspire individuals to support this noble cause. By doing so, the event aimed to contribute to the restoration of sight for individuals suffering from corneal blindness.

MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to Jawhar, Mokhada, and Vikramgad for their cooperation and support in organizing and hosting these eye donation awareness activities.
