On June 16 and June 24, 2026, MOHAN Foundation Tripura hosted two live radio talks on AIR Akashvani FM Ujjanyanta to promote awareness about organ donation. Broadcast in Kokborok and Bengali, the programs reached communities across Tripura, including remote areas, to educate listeners about the importance, benefits, and process of organ donation while addressing common myths and misconceptions. The programs highlighted the social and humanitarian impact of organ donation and encouraged the public to become part of this life-saving movement.

The live talk shows featured Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead of MOHAN Foundation Tripura, who spoke in Kokborok, and Ms. Nipa Modak, Program Executive, who spoke in Bengali. The Kokborok programme was hosted by Radio Jockey Mr. Kishore Kumar Debbarma, while the Bengali programme was anchored by Radio Jockey Ms. Anindita Roy. Both sessions included interactive question-and-answer segments, during which the hosts presented questions from listeners for discussion by the speakers. This helped clarify doubts, dispel myths, and provide accurate information about organ donation.

The programs aimed to spread awareness about organ donation throughout Tripura, encourage a positive attitude towards donation, and motivate individuals to register as organ donors. Through informative discussions, listeners gained practical knowledge about the significance of organ donation, the donation process, and the steps involved in pledging to become a donor.

Many listeners called in to learn more about organ donation; however, due to time constraints, only a limited number of calls could be accommodated. Some of the questions raised during the programs included:

1. How can we register for organ donation and eye donation?
2. Where can we pledge to become an organ donor, and whom should we contact for more information about organ donation?

Before concluding the show, RJ Anindita said, “Organ donation is not an ordinary donation; it is an opportunity to bring new light into someone’s life. If each of us comes forward even in a small way, many people can be given a new lease on life. Let us stand for humanity and help save lives.”
