On June 24, 2026, an Organ and Eye Donation Awareness Session was conducted at Annai Teresa Trust, Kilpauk, Chennai. The session was organized by MOHAN Foundation for senior citizens residing at the trust. Approximately 20 senior citizens participated in the session.

Ms. Kanishka, Project Executive, MOHAN Foundation, commenced the session with an introduction to MOHAN Foundation and its activities, followed by an awareness talk on eye donation, addressing its importance, eligibility criteria, and the impact of restoring vision through donation. Subsequently, Organ donation ambassador Ms. Nivedha R, conducted the organ donation awareness session, providing information on organ and tissue donation, the concept of brain death, the organ donation process, registration procedures, and the significance of deceased organ donation. Ms. Janani, Intern distributed educational brochures on organ donation, eye donation, tissue donation, and the importance of deceased donation was shared with the participants. The audience showed great interest in learning about organ and tissue donation.

The participants were highly engaged, actively asked questions, and expressed a positive attitude towards organ and tissue donation. Some of the common queries raised by the participants included the presence of MOHAN Foundation in different states, the difference between brain death and coma, the registration process for organ donation, and the procedures involved in organ and tissue donation. Participants also sought information regarding skin, nerve, and tissue donation, the organs and tissues that can be donated, and the time frame for organ retrieval after death.

Several questions related to eye donation, eyesight problems, previous eye surgeries, and the eligibility of individuals with diabetes, hypertension, and other health conditions for donation were also discussed. These interactions helped clarify misconceptions and provided accurate information regarding organ, eye, and tissue donation. A total of 3 individuals pledged their support for organ and eye donation.
