Awareness Program on Organ Donation by MOHAN Foundation at Mohanpur Girl’s Higher Secondary School, West Tripura |

On June 17, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness program on organ donation and transplantation for the students of Mohanpur Girls' Higher Secondary School, West Tripura. Ms. Simadri Debbarma, Vice-Principal of the school, welcomed the MOHAN Foundation team to the school. As part of the Foundation's ongoing efforts, this session was conducted for Classes X to XI students to raise awareness about organ donation and transplantation among them. Ms. Nipa Modak, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, was the resource person and Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, accompanied her.
The session was then handed over to Ms. Nipa Modak who gave a brief introduction to the history of the organization. She spoke about the role of the organization and the work carried out since its establishment. She explained the significance of organ donation, the various types of organ and tissue donation, and highlighted on how a single donor can save multiple lives. The process of organ donation was also discussed in detail to ensure a clear understanding among the participants.
Ms. Nipa also encouraged the students to become ambassadors for the cause and spread awareness about organ donation within their families and communities. To reinforce the key messages shared during the session, organ donation awareness leaflets were distributed to the participants.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which students actively engaged with the resource person and sought clarifications on various aspects of organ donation and transplantation.
The participants showed keen interest throughout the program and actively participated in the discussions. The teachers appreciated MOHAN Foundation's initiative to educate students about the life-saving importance of organ donation and to motivate the younger generation to support this noble cause.
The program was attended by 63 participants, including students and teaching faculty members. |
