On June 20, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ and tissue donation for the teachers and staff members of Sevalaya, Kasuva Village. Around 50 participants attended the programme in hybrid mode.

The session commenced with the screening of a short film on the concept of organ donation by Mr. Vijay. This was followed by a session by Ms. Kanishka, Project Executive, who spoke on cornea donation awareness. She highlighted the increasing prevalence of corneal blindness among young people and explained the process of cornea donation, the precautions to be taken during eye retrieval, how one donor can restore sight to two individuals, and the procedure for pledging eyes.

Subsequently, Mrs. Arshiya Fathima, Senior Project Executive, delivered a talk on organ donation. She explained the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA), the concepts of brain death and coma, different types of organ donation, organ retrieval time frames, and shared inspiring donor and recipient stories. She also addressed common myths and facts surrounding organ donation and explained the organ donation pledging process.

The session concluded with a video featuring Mr. Ahmed Hussain, a heart transplant recipient, who shared his journey and emphasized the life-saving impact of organ donation. During the interactive session, participants raised several queries, including whether individuals with diabetes and hypertension could donate their organs and eyes, and whether organs would be used for transplantation if a person had pledged for whole body donation. These queries were clarified by the resource persons.

At the end of the session, a total of 7 individuals pledged for organ and cornea donation.
