On May 13 2026, an eye donation awareness session was successfully conducted at Rural Hospital Palghar, District Palghar. The session was attended by approximately 55 participants, including hospital visitors, patients, caregivers, and members of the local community.

The session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from MOHAN Foundation with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of eye donation and its vital role in restoring vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness. Participants were provided with detailed information regarding the eye donation process, eligibility criteria, and the importance of eye donation within the critical time frame after death.

During the session, various aspects of eye donation were discussed, including the benefits of eye donation, common myths and misconceptions, and the process of corneal retrieval and transplantation. Participants were informed that eye donation is a noble act that can provide the gift of sight to visually impaired individuals and significantly improve their quality of life.

The attendees actively participated in the discussion and showed keen interest in understanding how eye donation can help individuals affected by corneal blindness. Queries raised by participants were addressed, and awareness was created regarding the importance of informing family members about one’s willingness to donate eyes.
