|
Eye Donation Awareness Session at Rural Hospital Manor On April 30, 2026, an eye donation awareness session was successfully conducted at Rural Hospital Manor with the participation of approximately 45 attendees, including hospital staff, patients, and their relatives. The objective of the session was to create awareness about the importance of eye donation and to encourage individuals to consider pledging their eyes after death to help restore vision for those in need. The session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from the MOHAN Foundation, who provided detailed information about corneal blindness, the need for eye donation, and the simple process involved in donating eyes. Participants were informed that eye donation can be carried out regardless of age and that donated eyes can significantly improve the quality of life for visually impaired individuals. Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were also addressed to help participants better understand this noble cause. The awareness session received a positive response from the participants, who actively engaged in the discussion and asked questions regarding eligibility, procedures, and the impact of eye donation. As a result of the session, one individual voluntarily pledged to donate their eyes, reflecting the effectiveness of the awareness initiative. The program contributed to strengthening community awareness about eye donation and emphasized the importance of promoting such life-changing initiatives at healthcare institutions. The MOHAN Foundation expresses sincere gratitude to Rural Hospital Manor for their valuable support and cooperation in successfully organizing this awareness session. The program helped spread the message of eye donation and encouraged participants to consider giving the precious gift of sight to others.
