On May 11, 2026, an organ donation awareness session was conducted at the Andheri Regional Transport Office (RTO) for members of the general public with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of organ donation and encouraging individuals to support this life-saving cause.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Nikhil Nagarkar, who educated participants about the concept and significance of organ donation, highlighting how one donor can help save and improve multiple lives. Detailed information was shared regarding the organ donation process, eligibility criteria, and the role of organ donation in addressing the shortage of organs for patients awaiting transplantation.

Participants were also informed about important medical and legal aspects related to organ donation, including the concepts of brain stem death and consent procedures. The session aimed to clarify common doubts and misconceptions associated with organ donation and promote accurate understanding among the attendees.

Approximately 40 participants attended the session and actively engaged in the discussion. The attendees showed interest in learning about the donation process.

The program proved to be informative and impactful in raising awareness among the general public and encouraging positive conversations around organ donation. Such awareness initiatives play an important role in motivating individuals to consider organ donation as a noble act that can give others a second chance at life.
