On 6th June 2026, Gabriel Pereira, Organ Donation Ambassador from the MOHAN Foundation, actively participated in the Health Camp and Blood Donation Drive organised by the Rotary Club of Miramar in association with the Village Panchayat of Taleigao, at Casa Do Povo, Taleigao, Goa

The camp was held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and witnessed an encouraging response from the community, with approximately 200 people attending. Various healthcare services were offered, including general health check-ups, dental consultations, physiotherapy assessments, eye examinations, blood pressure screening and blood donation.

During the camp, Gabriel interacted with attendees and created awareness about the importance of organ donation. He educated visitors on why they should say “Yes” to Organ Donation, explained the organ and tissue transplantation facilities available in Goa, highlighted the hospitals involved in transplantation activities, and clarified which organs and tissues are currently being transplanted in the state.

The awareness initiative received a positive response, with six individuals coming forward to pledge their organs and receive donor cards, marking another step towards promoting the cause of organ donation in Goa.

At the conclusion of the event, Gabriel expressed his sincere gratitude to Rotarian Dr Sandhya Mayenkar, Project Coordinator of the Rotary Club of Miramar, for inviting him to be part of this meaningful initiative. He also thanked all the Rotarians for their continued support and for keeping the MOHAN Foundation in mind while planning community outreach programs.

The camp was a successful effort in combining healthcare services with public awareness, helping spread the message that one organ donor can save multiple lives and improve many more through tissue donation.
