Awareness Session on Eye Donation Conducted at Rural Hospital Manor, Palghar |

On 25 May 2026, an Eye Donation Awareness Session was conducted at Rural Hospital Manor, attended by approximately 40 participants, including hospital staff, patients, caregivers, and accompanying family members. The main objective of the session was to create awareness regarding the importance of eye donation and encourage people to understand its significance in restoring vision to individuals suffering from corneal blindness. The awareness session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from the MOHAN Foundation, who explained the concept and importance of eye donation in a simple and informative manner. Participants were educated about corneal blindness, the increasing need for eye donors, and the process involved in eye donation after death. Emphasis was given to the fact that eye donation is possible irrespective of age and can significantly improve the lives of visually impaired individuals. During the session, information regarding the benefits and procedure of eye donation was shared in detail. Common myths, misconceptions, and doubts related to eye donation were also discussed and clarified. Participants actively interacted during the session and sought information regarding eligibility criteria, the donation process, and the social impact of eye donation. Participants were encouraged to spread awareness regarding eye donation among their families and communities to support this noble cause.
