On May 08 2026, an eye donation awareness session was successfully conducted at Rural Hospital Boisar, Palghar, with the participation of approximately 65 attendees. The primary objective of the session was to create awareness about the importance of eye donation and to encourage people to understand how eye donation can help restore vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness.
The session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from the MOHAN Foundation, who provided detailed information regarding corneal blindness, the increasing need for eye donation, and the simple procedure involved in donating eyes after death. Participants were informed that eye donation is a noble act that can help improve the quality of life of visually impaired individuals by restoring sight through corneal transplantation.
During the session, important information was shared regarding the eligibility for eye donation, emphasizing that individuals of almost any age can donate their eyes.
