On May 22, 2026, MOHAN Foundation Uttarakhand was invited to conduct an awareness session at the annual function of Seva Bharati Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, held at Sunrise Point, Dehradun Road, Rishikesh. The invitation was extended by Dr. Hetram Mamgai, District President, Seva Bharti Uttarakhand, Rishikesh.

Seva Bharati is one of India’s largest non-governmental organizations, dedicated to the welfare and upliftment of underprivileged, rural, and tribal communities. Working under the umbrella of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the organization runs thousands of grassroots initiatives across the country in the fields of healthcare, education, skill development, women’s empowerment, social welfare, and disaster relief.

Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader, MOHAN Foundation, stationed at AIIMS Rishikesh, served as the resource speaker for the session and was accompanied by Mr. Arun Sharma, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Uttarakhand. The programme witnessed participation from individuals representing different schools, social groups, and local communities from across Rishikesh.

Mr. Sanchit Arora commenced the session by encouraging participants to share their existing understanding of organ donation, thereby creating an interactive and engaging environment. He then delivered an informative talk covering various aspects of organ donation, including its importance, eligibility for donation, living and deceased donation, organ donation during life and after death, brain death and its distinction from coma, eye and skin donation along with corneal preservation after death, the Transplantation of Human Organs & Tissues Act (THOTA), 1994, living kidney transplantation facilities at AIIMS Rishikesh, common myths and facts related to organ donation, ways individuals can contribute to the cause, and the goals and objectives of MOHAN Foundation and its Anudaan initiative.

Mr. Sanchit concluded the session by highlighting the urgent need for organ donation in India and encouraged participants to discuss the subject with their families, friends, and colleagues before pledging.

Participants appreciated the efforts of MOHAN Foundation and expressed their willingness to discuss organ donation with their families.

The session was attended by nearly 300 participants, and 2 participants pledged to donate their organs through the NOTTO website.
