Awareness Session on Eye Donation Conducted at Patangshaha Kutir Hospital, Jawhar, Palghar

On April 11, 2026, an eye donation awareness session was conducted at Patangshaha Kutir Hospital, Jawhar, as part of training and community awareness activities. The main objective of the session was to spread awareness about the importance of eye donation and to encourage people to pledge their eyes, thereby helping restore vision to individuals suffering from corneal blindness.

 

Approximately 40 participants attended the session, including patients and their relatives. The topic was presented in a simple, clear, and interactive manner, making it easy for everyone to understand. Participants were informed about how eye donation can restore vision to blind individuals, the eligibility criteria for eye donation, and the complete process involved. Additionally, common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were addressed and clarified.

 

The session received a positive and encouraging response. Participants actively engaged by asking questions and showing interest in the topic. A significant outcome of the session was that one individual pledged to donate their eyes, reflecting the impact of the awareness program.
