Eye Donation Awareness Session Conducted at Rural Hospital, Boisar, Palghar

On April 10, 2026, an eye donation awareness session was conducted at Rural Hospital,Boisar. The session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from MOHAN Foundation. Approximately 60 participants attended the session and were sensitized about the importance of eye donation and its significant role in restoring vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness. The session aimed to create awareness and motivate the community to actively support eye donation initiatives.

The session covered key aspects such as the eye donation process, including the time frame for donation after death, the role of eye banks, and how donated corneas are utilized for transplantation. Information on eligibility criteria was also shared, highlighting that most individuals can donate their eyes irrespective of age or medical history in many cases. Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were addressed in detail to remove hesitation and build confidence among participants.

Participants actively engaged in the session by asking questions and sharing their views, which made the session more interactive and impactful. The initiative contributed to spreading awareness at the community level and encouraged individuals to consider eye donation as a noble and life-saving act.
