On April 9, 2026, an eye donation awareness session was conducted at Dhawale Hospital, Palghar. The session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from MOHAN Foundation. Approximately 60 participants attended the session and were informed about the importance of eye donation and its vital role in restoring vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness. The session aimed to sensitize the community and encourage voluntary eye donation as a noble and life-changing act. The session included detailed information on the eye donation process, including the ideal time frame for donation after death, the role of eye banks, and how donated corneas are used for transplantation. Participants were also informed about eligibility criteria, emphasizing that most individuals can donate their eyes regardless of age or gender. Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were addressed effectively to ensure better understanding and to remove fear or hesitation among participants. Interactive discussions were encouraged during the session, allowing participants to ask questions and clarify their doubts. Informational materials were also shared to reinforce key messages and promote awareness beyond the session. During the session, one individual pledged to donate their eyes, reflecting the positive impact of the awareness initiative and the growing willingness among community members to contribute towards this noble cause.
