An organ and tissue donation awareness session was conducted on April 23,2026 at Virangula Group, Thane East, specifically for senior citizens, with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation and encouraging informed participation in this life-saving cause.

The session provided comprehensive information on the concept and significance of organ and tissue donation, including the need for donors, eligibility criteria, and the procedures involved in donation. Key aspects such as brain stem death, consent processes, and the role of family members were also explained to give participants a clear understanding of the subject.

Approximately 25 senior citizens attended the session and actively participated in the discussion. The session was highly interactive, with participants showing keen interest and raising thoughtful queries. Major topics of discussion included the concept and functioning of a green corridor during organ transport, the step-by-step organ donation process, and information related to body donation. All queries were addressed in detail, helping to clarify doubts and enhance understanding.
