Creating Awareness among Children at ARUWYE Summer Camp

On April 21, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ and tissue donation awareness session at the ARUWYE Summer Camp for children at Kodambakkam, Chennai. Around 60 children participated in the session.

The session began with Mrs. Arshiya, Senior Project Executive, who introduced the concept of organs and their functions in the human body. She explained the importance of each organ and what happens when an organ fails. To make the session engaging and age-appropriate, she used storytelling to explain organ donation. The concept of eye donation was also effectively conveyed through a story, helping children understand it better.

The children showed great curiosity and actively engaged by asking questions about how organs can be donated, how they function in another person’s body, and what steps can be taken if someone they know needs an organ.

Following this, Ms. Kanishka, Project Executive, conducted a movie-based quiz on organ donation. Through this interactive activity, she addressed common myths and facts, highlighting how movies can sometimes create misconceptions about organ donation.

At the end of the session, brochures and green ribbons were distributed to all participants. The children expressed their willingness to share the information with their family members, thereby extending the impact of the session.

MOHAN Foundation expressed its sincere gratitude to Director Sister Isabella of ARUWYE  for providing the opportunity to conduct this awareness session.
