An eye donation awareness session was conducted on February 24, 2026, at Nehale Khurd, Jawhar, following an invitation to MOHAN Foundation. The session aimed to educate members of the general public about the importance of eye donation and to encourage community participation in this noble cause.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Karina Kadu, who provided detailed information on the concept of eye donation and its role in restoring vision through corneal transplantation. She explained the causes of corneal blindness, the importance of corneal tissue, necessary precautions, and the eligibility criteria, including age limits for donation.

In addition, the session covered important legal aspects related to eye donation, such as consent procedures and the involvement of family members. Common myths and misconceptions were also addressed and clarified with factual explanations to enhance participants’ understanding.

A total of 50 members of the general public attended the session. The participants were actively engaged and raised several queries regarding eligibility, the procedure to be followed after death, and the time frame for eye donation. These queries were addressed in detail, making the session interactive and informative.
