An awareness session on eye donation was organized on March 17, 2026, at Shree Gajanan Maharaj Nursing College, Jawhar, conducted by MOHAN Foundation’s Karina Kadu. The session was specially designed for nursing students to build awareness and encourage them to play an active role in promoting eye donation within society. The discussion highlighted how eye donation can help restore vision in individuals affected by corneal blindness. Students were introduced to the basic concepts of donation, including who can become a donor, the steps involved after death, and the importance of timely action. Information regarding the safety, ethical considerations, and legal framework of eye donation was also shared to provide a complete understanding of the process. An interactive approach was followed throughout the session, allowing students to openly share their thoughts and clear their doubts. Topics such as donor eligibility, myths related to eye donation, and the impact of donation on the donor’s appearance were discussed in detail. This helped students gain clarity and develop a positive perspective towards eye donation. Around 50 students attended the session and showed keen interest in the topic. Their active participation and thoughtful questions reflected a strong willingness to learn and contribute to this meaningful cause. The session concluded successfully with appreciation for the support extended by Shree Gajanan Maharaj Nursing College, Jawhar. Such educational initiatives are important in empowering future healthcare professionals to spread awareness and inspire others towards eye donation.
