On 12 March 2026, on the occasion of World Kidney Day, Ms. Jaya Jairam, Project Director of MOHAN Foundation, attended an important seminar organized by Nephro+ at Medanta Hospital, Ranchi. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness about kidney health, dialysis, transplantation, and the importance of organ donation.

Ms. Jaya Jairam was warmly received by Mr. Jagmohan Das, Head of the Marketing Team at Medanta Hospital. During the programme, Dr. Mukti Kant Senapati felicitated her on stage with a bouquet and a memento in recognition of her significant contribution to promoting organ donation awareness.

During the seminar, Ms. Jaya Jairam addressed around 100 dialysis patients, their caregivers, transplant recipients, and healthcare professionals. In her address, she emphasized the importance of organ donation, the urgent need for organ donors, and the need to support patients awaiting transplantation. She also spoke in detail about the work of MOHAN Foundation and encouraged people to come forward and support deceased organ donation.

During the event, Dr. Tapas Sahu, Associate Director and Head of Critical Care at Medanta Ranchi, also interacted with her and expressed keen interest in initiating deceased organ donation activities at the hospital. He also showed willingness to collaborate on future awareness initiatives.

Following the event, Ms. Jaya Jairam and Mr. Mukesh Kumar met Hospital Director Mr. Vishwajeet and Dr. Sushma Bala, Nephrologist. The discussion focused on strengthening organ donation awareness programmes and exploring the possibilities of starting deceased organ donation programmes at the hospital.

The seminar witnessed active participation from doctors, nurses, dialysis technicians, patients, and their family members. The session proved to be highly informative and impactful, and helped increase awareness about organ donation.
