On 25.03.2026, an organ donation awareness session was successfully conducted at the Rotary Club of Hyderabad Deccan, held at ITC Kakatiya.

The session was delivered by Dr. Bhanu Prakash, Senior Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation, and was accompanied and assisted by Venkatesh Kattela, Project Manager.

Dr. Bhanu Prakash provided comprehensive insights into the importance of organ donation and its life-saving impact. The programme covered key topics including:

• Meaning and types of organ donation
• Difference between brain death and cardiac arrest
• Importance of donor cards
• Legal framework under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), 1994
• Addressing myths and misconceptions

Nearly 40 Rotary Club members attended the session, and several participants pledged their organs, demonstrating their commitment to this noble and humanitarian cause. In a remarkable show of commitment, 40 participants displayed their donor cards, confirming their pledge to organ donation.

The session was informative, inspiring, and well appreciated by all attendees, further strengthening community engagement in promoting organ donation awareness.
