On 12.03.2026, in observance of World Kidney Day 2026, a press conference and organ donation awareness session were conducted in collaboration with Nephroplus and the MOHAN Foundation.

The day commenced with a World Kidney Day Press Conference, where Kamal D. Shah, Co-founder of Nephroplus, addressed the media about the growing burden of kidney failure. He emphasized the importance of preventive care, early diagnosis, and timely treatment. He also expressed his delight in collaborating with the MOHAN Foundation to strengthen awareness through media engagement.

Dr. Bhanu Chandra from the MOHAN Foundation spoke about the significance of organ donation and the urgent need to motivate individuals to pledge their organs to save lives.

Dr. Ratan Jha, Clinical Director, Department of Nephrology, CARE Hospital, elaborated on the clinical aspects of kidney disease, including dialysis, treatment modalities, and patient management. The session concluded with an interactive media Q&A.

Post-lunch, an organ donation awareness session was conducted for the employees of Nephroplus Corporate Office by Dr. Bhanu Chandra, accompanied and assisted by Venkatesh Kattela, Project Manager.

The programme covered key topics such as the meaning and types of organ donation, the difference between brain death and cardiac arrest, eye donation procedures, organ donation in medico-legal and sensitive situations, the legal framework under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), 1994, the importance of donor cards, and addressing common myths and misconceptions.

The session was informative, engaging, and well received. Notably, 160 participants came forward to receive Donor Cards and pledged to donate their organs. Overall, it was a meaningful and impactful day dedicated to promoting kidney health awareness and strengthening the message of organ donation.
