On March 10, 2026 – A highly impactful organ donation awareness session was successfully conducted at Taduri Narayan Reddy Zilla Parishad High School, Dandumailaram, Ibrahimpatnam Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana. The initiative was led by Project Manager Mr. Venkatesh Kattela under the aegis of MOHAN Foundation, with the objective of strengthening awareness about the life-saving significance of organ donation among school students.

Despite transportation challenges, two PowerPoint-based engaging awareness sessions were conducted for students of Grades 6 and 10, reaching over 280 students and faculty members. The sessions were informative, interactive, and well received by both students and staff.

The programme covered key topics including:

• Meaning and types of organ donation
• Difference between coma, brain death and cardiac arrest
• Eye donation – process and importance
• Organ donation in medico-legal and sensitive situations
• Legal framework under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), 1994
• Importance of donor cards
• Addressing myths and misconceptions

The students’ curiosity was particularly encouraging. They raised thoughtful and insightful questions, especially regarding eye donation and organ donation in cases of suicide. These sensitive and meaningful discussions made the sessions intellectually enriching and reflected the students’ growing awareness and maturity.

The principal and faculty members appreciated the sustained activities and continuous efforts of MOHAN Foundation in promoting organ donation awareness. The session witnessed a strong response, with 11 attendees publicly expressing their intent to donate organs through donor card display.

This successful session at Taduri Narayan Reddy Zilla Parishad High School once again highlights the importance of reaching young minds and nurturing a socially responsible generation committed to saving lives through organ donation.
