On March 23, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ donation for the faculty and students of the Government Degree College under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), at Khumulwng, West Tripura. The session aimed to enhance awareness about organ donation and transplantation and to highlight the its importance in saving lives.

MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, Tripura, and Ms. Nipa Modak, Program Executive.

Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Organ Donation Ambassador of Tripura, who was trained under the Angels of Change program in December 2025, by MOHAN Foundation, supported the coordination and organization of the event.

The program began with a welcome address and brief introduction by Dr. Subrata Debbarma, Vice Principal of the college. This was followed by a short and emphasizing the importance of organ donation awareness for everyone.

The session was then conducted by Mr. Vincent, who introduced MOHAN Foundation and provided information on organ donation, including types of donation, eligibility criteria for donors, brain death, coma, cornea donation, and statistics of on organ requirements in India. He highlighted the life-saving impact of organ donation, explaining how one a donor can save multiple patients.

The session also addressed common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation and encouraged participants to actively support and promote awareness of this noble cause. It was interactive in nature, with participants asking questions and seeking clarifications for better understanding.

The step-by-step process of organ donation was explained in detail, and informational leaflets were distributed to reinforce the key messages shared during the session.

A total of 123 participants, including students and teaching faculty, attended the program.
