The workshop took place at Dr. T. M. A. Pai Halls, on the 2nd floor of the Administrative Building, KMC, Manipal. The inaugural ceremony for the same was graced by Dr. (Col.) The event was presided over by Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor – Health Sciences, MAHE, Manipal. Ms. Pallavi Kumar was the Guest of Honour. Ms Pallavi Kumar delivered a talk on “Making the Ask for Organ Donation”. In her talk, she elaborated on how compassionate end of life care and empathetic communication with families can significantly improve consent rates. She stressed that it is the right of every family to be given this choice for their loved one to be an organ donor. While the loss of one life is deeply tragic, the gift of organ donation can transform that loss into something meaningful for the family. Ms. Pallavi Kumar also shared her personal experiences of working with donor families. She spoke about the emotional journeys involved—from grief to hope—and described the profound moments when families find solace in knowing their loved one helped save others. She was also a panellist for the panel discussion on "Increasing donor pool and utilising organs in DBD" Around 260 doctors and nurses were part of the CME. Earlier in the day, she along with Dr Avnish Seth interacted with 250 medical students on organ donation. An interactive question-and-answer session followed, where students actively engaged, clarifying doubts and gaining deeper insights into the process and ethics of organ donation. This was followed by a pledging ceremony, where participants expressed their willingness to support and promote organ donation. After this a very interesting quiz was conducted for the students. The activity created enthusiasm and curiosity among the participants, making learning both informative and enjoyable. Students showed great interest. The program concluded on an inspiring note, leaving attendees more aware, motivated, and committed to spreading the message of organ donation.
