On February 6, 2026, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh from MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness stall at Sohan Library, located in Morabadi, Ranchi. The stall was organized for students with the objective of increasing awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation and encouraging young people to understand and support this life-saving cause. Educational spaces such as libraries play an important role in fostering awareness, as they provide an ideal environment to engage students in meaningful discussions on social and health-related issues. During the session, Mr. Singh explained the concepts of organ and tissue donation in a simple and informative manner. He spoke about brain death and cardiac death, helping the students understand the medical context in which organ donation becomes possible. He also provided details about the organs and tissues that can be donated and discussed the legal aspects related to organ donation in India. In addition, he addressed common myths and misconceptions, ensuring that the participants received accurate information and a clearer understanding of the subject. A total of 18 students attended the awareness stall and actively participated in the discussion. The session was interactive, with students showing curiosity and interest in learning more about the topic. One of the queries raised during the session was regarding heart valves and their role in organ donation. This question was addressed by Mr. Singh, who clarified its significance and provided the students with relevant information. The active participation of the students reflected the success of the awareness activity and the growing interest among youth in understanding organ donation. Overall, the awareness stall was informative and impactful, helping to increase awareness about organ donation among the students.
