The stall was conducted by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh from MOHAN Foundation with the objective of spreading awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation and sensitizing the public on this life-saving cause. Hospitals are important spaces for such awareness initiatives, as they provide an opportunity to directly engage with individuals and families and help them understand the significance of donation in saving and improving lives. During the awareness session, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh explained the concepts of organ and tissue donation in a clear and simple manner. He elaborated on important topics such as brain death and cardiac death, helping participants understand the difference between the two and their relevance in the context of donation. He also provided information on the organs and tissues that can be donated and discussed the legal aspects related to organ donation in India. In addition, common myths and misconceptions were addressed to ensure that the participants received accurate and reliable information. A total of 20 patient attenders visited the stall and actively participated in the discussion. The interaction was engaging, with attendees showing interest in learning more about the donation process and its impact. One of the common queries raised during the session was whether a person with high blood pressure can donate organs. Overall, the awareness stall was informative and meaningful, serving as an effective platform to promote understanding and positive attitudes toward organ donation. The session contributed to MOHAN Foundation’s ongoing efforts to educate communities, dispel misconceptions, and encourage more people to support the cause of organ donation.
