On February 3, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness talk on organ donation at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Mantripukhri, Imphal East, Manipur. The session was led by Ms. Moirangthem Priya Devi and Mr. Elangbam Paringangba Singh, Program Executives, MOHAN Foundation.
The session was organized in collaboration with Mr. Kiran, Program Head, Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH).
Ms. Priya explained the concept of organ donation and discussed the organs that can be donated. She also highlighted the difference between living organ donation and deceased organ donation. She emphasized that a large number of patients remain on waiting lists, depending on the generosity of donors for a second chance at life. Participants were briefed on the procedure for pledging organ donation and the functioning of the pledge system. She further clarified that even if an individual has registered as an organ donor, consent from the family is mandatory for organ retrieval after death. She encouraged participants to consider organ donation as a meaningful way to help others and create hope for those in need.
Information pamphlets on organ donation were distributed at the end of the session to reinforce the key messages shared. Close to 20 participants attended the session and gained valuable insights into the importance of organ donation, the pledge process, and the critical need for donors.
