An eye donation awareness session was conducted on January 13, 2026, at St. John College, Palghar, with the objective of educating students and staff about the importance of eye donation and its life-changing impact.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Prachiti Mali, who provided comprehensive information on the concept of eye donation and its role in restoring vision through corneal transplantation. She explained the causes of corneal blindness, the importance of corneal tissue, and the necessary precautions to be followed for successful donation. The eligibility criteria, including the age factor, were also discussed, emphasizing that individuals of most age groups can donate their eyes.

The session further covered important legal aspects related to eye donation, including consent procedures and the role of family members. Ms. Prachiti also addressed common myths and misconceptions associated with eye donation, providing factual clarifications to enhance participants’ understanding.

A total of 70 participants, including students and staff members, attended the session. The participants were attentive and actively engaged, making the session informative and effective in spreading awareness about eye donation.
